Even though I’m on a mini vacation we decided to go to Ikea. I’ve been doing a lot of retail therapy lately for clothes, so I decided I’ll look for some things at Ikea to spice up my living area. Since I love pink I actually bought some pink rugs, some cups with pink on them, and pink covers/pillow cases. I’m a little upset, wouldn’t you say? I bought some more stuff, and I even bought a blanket for my dog. She loves car rides so I need to make sure she doesn’t scratch up the seats.
Anyway tomorrow I return back home. I can’t wait so I can start to decorate with my new buys at Ikea 🙂 The last pictures I added in just because it was so pretty, the picture doesn’t do the view justice!
The title of this post is actually in Polish (I’m Polish), and it means Amber. Where my family is from in Poland is a city called Gdynia. It’s part of the Troj Miasto aka Tri-City that connects to Sopot and Gdansk. By the way I don’t know how to add all the accents and stuff on my keyboard for the Polish words! Anyway these cities are located in northern Poland on the beaches of the Baltic Sea. The reason why I’m telling you all of this is because the amber necklace I’m wearing is actually from the Baltic Sea. We have such an abundance of Amber or at least we used to that it used to sell for so inexpensive but now they have come up with all of these handmade pieces that are just amazingly beautiful. There are so many different types of amber, my mom actually has a beautiful black amber necklace that she rarely ever wears because of the fact that it’s black. Anyway, that is my explanation of the title of this post.
To add more to the title, if anyone ever has any chance to go to Poland I suggest you go to the Troj Miasto area because my city, Gdynia is the youngest of the three and it used to be mostly a harbor city, and still is but there’s nice beaches, parks, and food. Sopot has really good night life and the main square is so pretty, or the boardwalk. Gdansk is the most beautiful of the three. It has most of the historic buildings and market place and is just beautiful all around. I highly suggest going to those cities while you’re in Poland, plus who doesn’t want to get their tan on at the beaches?!
As for my outfit, I love this dress but rarely ever wear it because it is so delicate and I don’t want to ruin it, especially working at an office where I’m constantly running around and running into things because I’m super clumsy. The belt is vintage, it’s older than me and I know I wear it all the time in my posts but I literally love it that much. Sandals are Burberry, Hat is Ralph Lauren, Sunglasses are Rayban, and the bag is vintage Dooney & Bourke.
I hope everyone is having a good week so far, for those of you who work Monday-Friday, guess what!? We are halfway through the week!!! ^_^
Another effortless outfit. Sorry for the boring’ness lately! I’m not really sure how to wear flats with my clothing. I feel like everything looks better with heels so I’ve been trying to adjust to matching my clothing with my flats. This morning it was already 78 degrees, meaning another hot day. I wore this sundress to work since its Friday, we can be a little more casual. I feel like a fairy princess in this dress. You can’t see it in the picture because I have a cardigan on top but it has a low back. This dress I have had for many years and it is from The Gap. I love that I can still wear it after so many years (I think we are going on year 8 now).
Today was an effortless day, and trying to beat the heat. Survival of the fittest here in the hot summer months approaching haha. It was 50’s inspired by this 50’s pinup/sock hop ‘ish dress. Makes me want to sing “come on baby, let’s do the twist!”
I decided to wear just a regular summer dress. Of course I wore a cardigan over it to work because it’s inappropriate otherwise. Sorry that I’ve been wearing the same flats but now that I have to wear flats I’ve been trying to match. Although I might wear heels for the days where I know I won’t be wearing them for long.
Funny story about this dress though, it was my Halloween costume a few years ago. I bought it off Ebay and it looked a little different in person from the picture, it actually looked like I could possibly wear it again! So ever since I’ve worn it a few times, I paired it with my red Betsey Johnson belt, red Sam Edelman flats, and a white Ralph Lauren cardigan. Let’s not forget my new obsession, my vintage Dooney & Bourke bag. I promise I’ll wear another soon, I’m just obsessed with it!
Well I feel like it’s rained for a million days. Yesterday was the first sunny day in a long time, which only lasted for about an hour. I checked the weather it’s supposed to get better, or at least we can hope. My outfit today was very rainy day worthy. I had my lovely Burberry umbrella that can be found at www.stores.ebay.com/EWA-BAZAAR I think the green ones are sold out, my Ralph Lauren rain boots, and my red Calvin Klein rain jacket. It’s not really meant for the rain but its a little more water repellant than most of my jackets. I felt like I was prepared to go puddle jumping!
There is also another theme going on with my outfit today. Last night after a long day at work and yoga class I finally made it home and checked my mail to find that my Betsey Johnson earrings had arrived!!!! They are two completely different earrings, but as some of you know Betsey is known for having crazy awesome things but in the recent years she’s had many earrings that come as a set but are two different earrings. The one earring of my set is a farm girl with her hair in braids and the other earring is a long chain attached to a shovel with a watering can. I got this because I just started getting into gardening. It’s very relaxing and it’s nice to see something grow and bloom into something beautiful. Well since I was in the gardening theme I chose this skirt that has a print of a farm with horses and stables. It doesn’t look like it from far away, but look up close and you can see it.
When I woke up this morning on this lovely Tuesday that felt like a Monday I did my normal routine; go to the bathroom and brush my teeth. On my way to the bathroom I tripped over my Minnie Mouse bag that I got from one of my coworkers when she went to Disney. When I looked at it I had an idea for an outfit.
It was relatively cold this morning and I was having the Monday blues but on a Tuesday, so I wanted something somewhat warm and comfortable. Once I tripped over that bag I saw the colors; red, white, and black. Since I wore red, white, and blue yesterday I figured why not. It was also a hair up kind of day because I have yoga after work today.
I decided on my outfit. Ralph Lauren cardigan and ruffle blouse, which can both be found at www.stores.ebay.com/EWA-BAZAAR along with my Kate Hill black skinny fit pants. Then I added in some accessories. Red Sam Edelman shoes with a vintage belt & Dooney and Bourke bag that I found in my mom’s closet. The belt has made an appearance before but I just love it so much, plus it has that worn in leather feel and look. I love when leather looks worn in, it gives it character.
I hope everyone’s back to work Tuesday was good, hey only three more work days right?
