Today I stepped out of bed (I had left my windows open the night before because it was actually nice) and immediately put on pants and a sweatshirt. Um, where in the world did the heat go? Heat wave please come back! I miss you already.
I really don’t want to start wearing pants everyday to work. However thanks to my outfit today, I did sit at my desk with my scarf being used as a blanket. I don’t do well in the cold, I love the summer heat.
I also wanted to share that I made it to the “new” page on Lookbook. When I saw this I literally started jumping for joy. How cool is that?? I know it took me a few months but I mean those pictures are beautiful and the outfits are way better than mine, I actually don’t know how I made it to be honest.
Well here is my outfit of the day, very work appropriate. The jacket is from Marshall’s from a few years ago. Tank top is Ralph Lauren found at www.stores.ebay.com/EWA-BAZAAR along with the skirt. The shoes are BOC. They are so comfortable.
Also, just to let everyone know tomorrow I am planning on having a very special post that is near and dear to me. I have revised this post a million times and I still don’t know if it is good enough. It will be part of my Mini Hill Series but with a more serious feel. It’s a little long (as of now) so don’t read it unless you have time because if you miss parts of it you won’t understand how I feel 100%. Anyway, it would mean a lot for it to be read because it’s such an important part of life.
And I’ll leave you with an adorable picture of my fur children. Enjoy!
Well today I went to the hand doctor. I officially have a ganglion cyst. The doctor did some tests and said it’s not bad enough for surgery but I can do one of two things. Either I can live with it and get it checked every so often to make sure it hasn’t gotten bigger or that it isn’t a bad tumor, or I can have it drained but if I do that there is a 50% chance of it coming back. Well I’m still deciding but I think I might just deal with it. He said I can get a splint to decrease the movement in my wrist. So the good news is no surgery, bad news is I need to decide what I want to do. I’ll probably stick to just dealing with it.
Anyway, I wore something very simple to work today. The jacket I got thrifting in Boston. The top is Ralph Lauren and skirt is INC. Flats are Burberry and I think there are still some at http://www.stores.ebay.com/EWA-BAZAAR
Oh and let’s not forget, I’d like to introduce everyone to Bob. I also like to call him Bobert, he’s from McDonald’s to keep the other minion company. I know, I’m a child but they are just too cute!
This weekend was fun filled. Saturday night was the first time I went out in oh gosh, I don’t even know how long. I don’t really go out anymore because I relax on the weekends after a long week of work and Physical Therapy, yoga, and my fur child.
So first I would like to share something called sticky rice. It’s an Asian dish, and if you wrap it with lotus leaves it’s something called zhong zhi. I think that’s how you spell it if I remember correctly. Let me just tell you if you find someone who can make this from scratch it’s literally heaven in your mouth. It’s sticky rice with seasonings and each one is different but this one is so good. It has sausage, small strips of mushroom, and just sticky rice. I think the woman who made it for me puts oyster sauce in it as well. Anyway, here is a picture of this amazing dish!
This is a picture I took a few months ago when I had it for the first time. It’s wrapped in lotus leaves.
Saturday night I went out and had a ladies night. The pictures aren’t great quality, they’re taken with phones so I apologize greatly, however I wanted to share them anyway. My dress is from Forever 21, I literally bought it the night of. My hair and makeup is done by friend. She has her own salon so I felt so awesome getting pampered!
Today was Sunday Funday and this is what I wore.
The hair piece is a new style I am trying out (from Forever 21) and I never thought I could pull it off but I am loving this look! The leggings/yoga pants are from Victoria’s Secret, top from Marshall’s and rain boots are Ralph Lauren. We had a torrential downpour today so I had no choice but to wear my rain boots.
Well let me start off by saying TGIF! Secondly I buy McDonald’s coffee all the time and never noticed the minion toy with your happy meal sign. Um, what? I just turned into a little kid. First of all I love Despicable Me (still have YET to see the second one which makes me so sad) and Agnes “it’s so fluffy” is just amazing and I love it.
Well during my lunch hour with two lovely ladies from the office we went to just get coffee from McDonald’s and chapstick from Walgreens. I found the most AMAZING wind chime at Walgreen’s and I thought that was seriously the icing on the cake of today because well it’s also Friday.
I’m not sure if you can see but the dream catcher goes almost all the way down to my toes.
If this wasn’t an amazing random thing to buy on lunch we finished our lunch hour with McDonald’s. My coworkers saw the sign and we all got excited for minions. The one girl has never had a happy meal in her life (I mean I’ve only had one or two in my life) and she actually bought a happy meal with her toy. I just bought mine separately. Ladies and Gentlemen I would like to introduce to you Tim, the minion.
Isn’t Tim so adorable!!??
The one girl at work wanted to take a picture of me at work because of the little minions on my computer. So here is the picture.
And yes I do have two screens. With what we do at work we need more than one screen. This is the best invention ever.
Anywho, how’s everyone’s Friday? What are you doing this weekend?
My last day in Boston. So sad, I didn’t want to leave. I think if I had Lilly with me I would’ve stayed in Boston. Only thing I wouldn’t like is the cold they have up there sometimes. I’m not big into cold weather.
Well, here is what was done on the third day.
Pretty much my day was spent traveling. My brother and I woke up early (well I woke up almost 2 hours before he did, figures haha) and we headed towards the city. The first thing we did was paid our respects to the victims of the Boston bombings.
In the pictures I have if you look at the fence it has a bunch of fabric attached to it. People write their thoughts on those pieces of fabric and tie it to the fence. Well remember from Day number one when I chopped up my shirt, I used the part of the leftover fabric and wrote something in memory of that horrific time in Boston. Oh and that Boston Strong shirt I actually bought the day before but I thought it fit more with the whole meaning of this first part of this post.
After that we went back to the park that you saw in the first post as well. We sat there for a little bit and just relaxed. After a little while we started heading to the train station, South Station, Boston. We ate lunch and just chatted for a little bit.
Oh and the outfit from that last day was all Ralph Lauren. Plus Rayban sunglasses.
Once it hit 3:00 pm I was home bound. I had so much fun in Boston and I cannot wait to go back!
So the second day of my vacation didn’t have as many pictures because I went shopping almost ALL DAY!! It was seriously the best therapy ever! Retail therapy is always the best, I don’t care what any doctor says. So pretty much what my day was filled of was waking up and sleeping in a little bit. Then I decided to clean my brother’s kitchen because well he fed me the day before so some of those dirty dishes were mine. Anyway after breakfast we went shopping. We went to so many thrift shops it was insane. They were amazing and the prices for some of the things I bought were for so cheap. We also stopped at a TJ Maxx to get away from the heat for a little bit.
So here was the first part of my day…
Well those shorts I snagged at Marshall’s they are French Connection and they were on sale! Top is Ralph Lauren, bag is Vince Camuto and in the below picture of the bracelets they are from TJ Maxx sterling silver.
So let me tell you about this sign real quick haha. My brother and I were walking and all of the sudden he stopped talking. I look over and he’s looking at this sign as if it was some strange dream. Then I looked at it and saw, oh hey it’s missing the corners! The second part of my day was so fun. I told my brother to research and find a place in Boston that had $1 oysters. He actually asked his boss for a good place since he is a true Bostonian. He recommended this restaurant called Marliave. The picture I took of the original restaurant was dated 1936! Also it still has the original tile floor. Actually my brother said when we were seated “I bet you this is the original restaurant with no modifications.” Well when I went to the bathroom I passed by the picture and thought to myself wow!
Anyway the oysters were delicious. It was my brother’s first oyster dinner and he LOVED it. We had oysters from Maine, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
Well after all of that we went home and passed out, literally. It was such a long day of walking and fun filled activities that we were tired.
Anyway stay tuned for the rest of my vacation photos!
Well it’s that time again! It’s Wednesday, thank goodness. I’m still trying to catch up on sleep from my vacation but when you have to wake up at 5:45 am every morning for work with barely any sleep it’s kind of hard.
So what is getting me through the week?
• Of course coffee that’s pretty much a given.
• The countdown to my girls night out on Friday. Girls just wanna have fun!
• Excitement of uploading pictures from vacation on my blog.
